Anyway, thought to get Monday started off right with some music, so here's a sampling of some of our wedding reception music ideas!
Wedding: Music Ideas
Monday, March 11, 2013
If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you'll know I was looking at music for the wedding reception this weekend. Thanks for all your great suggestions!
Truthfully, this is one of the parts I'm most excited about (oh, who I am kidding? I'm excited about ALL parts of the wedding), because The Boy and I love to dance. And, several of our friends started taking dance lessons too, so it won't just be us and our dance instructors out there doing actual dances. I mean, obviously, I'm hoping for a full floor, even if it is mostly free-form shaking about dancing, but it makes me so excited to have others there dancing the Lindy, the Cha-cha, the Mambo, Two-step, and Waltz. I suspect even the Polka will make an appearance.

how fun, glad you decided to go for a post w/ this playlist!! many are so romantic & I esp liked thinking of doing the jig to blue suede shoes and great balls of fire. also i'm not usually a country song but this one really cracked me up! When is the date again? maybe you've replied to that in one of my comments but I don't know how to set up comment reply alerts.. maybe something to do w/ not using blogger.
Reply DeleteIt'll be so fun to have taken all these dance lessons and actually know how to dance at your wedding! We were a little clueless :)
Reply DeleteI'll have to listen to this when I'm not at work.

So long as you're having fun on the dance floor you're ahead of everybody sitting down- that's what our "instructors" say (he teaches dancing for the sole reason that we will get out onto dance floors and places won't get rid of dance floors).
DeleteHope yo enjoy the music later :)
Just listened to the whole thing now while getting my work done this morning, really a fun great playlist - thanks for the change from my usual music! I usually dislike country but you had some really fun ones on there!

Country was never my favorire either, but seems a little hard to avoid where I live, but I've really gotten to enjoy Two-stepping and waltzing to country. These ones on the list are a speed to really get one whirling! Glad you enjoyed them.
DeleteLove, love, love your blog! Come by my blog and let's follow each other! Stay in touch!

Thank you for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment.
DeleteReally great choices - very you! I suggest playing either 1 Micheal JAckson song or Living La Vida Loco - people ALWAYS dance to those. I promise.
Reply DeleteA Micheal Jackson song! Wouldn't have thought of it but it sounds fun! Thanks...hmm...now going to have to go listen to some Jackson....
DeleteI wish everyone played music like this at weddings! I don't know how to dance to most of the stuff people play like hip hop...though I'll be honest, I can't really dance at all haha. Great choices!
Reply DeleteI don't know how to dance to hip-hop either. But so long as people are having fun (and not stepping on toes!) I guess it doesn't matter what is played or how we dance :D
