What I Wore:  Hat (garage sale; gift), Sweater (Old Navy), Pants (Old), Belt (New York and Company), Purse (garage sale), shoes (Rockport; giveaway)

This was NOT what I was going to wear this weekend. Oh, Weather. How can you know it is the weekend, and why do you always seem to hate the weekend so? All week long lovely, sunshine and roses (well, not really. I live where nothing but noxious weeds grow. Proverbially though, oh yes. Roses.). Then the weekend arrives and it is all rain. I know everyone says the weather is crazy where they are, and this is surely true, but in this instance it did dictate a change of plans. Since I wasn't home, I threw what warm items I had together, and this was what happened. I must say though, I felt very Diane Keaton-like in this. A weird feeling when everyone else is in hoodies and jeans, but a nice one.

Despite the rain (or maybe because of it), I know springs right around the corner...as is a certain wedding (The weekend was spent getting some wedding-related things done, including picking up the groom's suit and our wedding rings)! Between job hunting, getting ready to move, learning to carb count, and the wedding itself, we've been busy. But beyond these, the new season makes one excited for new ideas and new plans. What are your dreams for the upcoming warmer weather?

  2. Seems like the weather in the States is just as annoying as the weather in Belgium! We have a four-day weekend this week and it has been sunny everyday. Guess when the clouds will roll in!? Thursday, indeed. Blah! x

    1. You have no idea how relieved I am to hear you say the carb counting is hard at first, because I've been feeling like a crazy person trying to remember and get things counted out right (especially when eating with family and friends)! So thank you for letting me know that.

My wedding is June 22; coming up so soon (eep!) I'm excited but there's so much to be done too. We're just trying to enjoy the process though.

  5. Cute hat! I also love the pop of yellow in your shoes! But ohmygosh, I know what you're talking about. I live in a place where it's cloudy all the time! Having sun is like the best thing ever.

  7. This is my kind of outfit! Love the black and grey palette with the subtle pop of colour on the tips of the shoes. Funny how the weather somehow always manages to be a tease during the week and then rain on weekends :(

  12. Especially for an outfit just thrown together, you look pretty good! I love your hat and your bright flats peeking out.

It's getting colder here so I am looking forwards to wearing my trench coat, lots of cosy knitted items and my boots.
