What I Wore: Jeans, Shirt (Old), Heels (Gift/Old), Necklace (Stitched and Adorned/ Old)

The other day, I was looking in my closet and realized- I hadn't worn my coral shorts nearly all summer long. Funny. I still love these shorts. I still love the outfits I've worn with them. I almost went to reach for them, but something stopped me.

Lately,  I've been more and more drawn to a simpler style. The shirt above was chosen for its loose and airy feeling, hardly any of it touching my skin. Sometimes I wonder if it is really "blog-worthy," but let's me breathe, not just physically but emotionally. It is a timeless look, on that you can always come back too.

It doesn't mean I don't love you, coral shorts, you will be getting your day in the sun on these pages soon enough. Oh, yes, there are plans for you! But here is some love for the everyday pieces that let you breathe, and-put together the right way- still shine. Because what people will see isn't the color or the flash but the person standing before them.

  3. Lovely! Haha, I always seem to love the outfits whenever the blogger wonder if it's blog-worthy. (I think the same way - I should learn from this) But seriously, this is a great summer outfit! I love the flow-y blouse.

    1. I'm the same way about loving (other people's) outfits that others are on the fence about if it is "blog worthy" too. Realizing that makes it seem very silly that I wonder the same thing about my own clothing, lol!

  4. Maybe that is why I like my colours and flash so much. Hiding behind them.

You look comfortable and relaxed : )

  5. I absolutely 100% understand what you've mean. I've found myself leaning toward more a simpler style (with less flash and accessories) lately as well. I get so much inspiration from you too! This top is the perfect sweet, simple piece. I can see you getting a TON of use out of it.

Also, I didn't comment, but those picture from Paris below are stunning! I can't get over how cute that photo of you and the boy clinking champagne glasses is :)

    1. Thanks Hattie!

No, these shots are not at any cottage. These are at the Buffalo Bill Resevoir right outside of town. We are very lucky to live near such a pretty area. Teddy Roosevelt called this (and the road by it) part of the 100 most beautiful miles of highway in America!

  9. I too think that very often but it's generally on more casual outfits and I love seeing bloggers casual outfits because i hold to it that it's harder to look great in shorts/pants and a top than a pretty dress, which always looks cute. anyway, i really love this blouse, i have been wanting a flowy one just like this for summer. and wow, these pictures are stunning! the lake is so pretty and I love the diff angles of you and esp the last.

    1. That is definitely true that it seems harder/needs more creativity to pull off cute pant and short looks. Dresses are always adorable! :D

      Thank you.

  11. Some really pretty shots, especially, this time. I love the way the tie is loose and undone on the blouse: I'll have to try that (why haven't I yet?) soon...
