The past week has been busy, busy, busy! Though still chilly, the bitter cold had let up, leaving in its wake lots and lots of ice and dirty snow. That still didn't stop us from jaunting up to Billings over the weekend to see a friend who was passing through for breakfast. We also looked at Christmas decorations in a few stores, even heading down to Red Lodge. Though we'd missed their Christmas Stroll, Red Lodge still had a strong Christmas feeling. It's a ski town and the snow proved it. In fact, there was so much it felt like the North Pole.
Speaking of which, are you getting excited as Christmas draws near? With the new job and Thanksgiving being so late many of our favorite Christmas traditions have been left undone. But thee are always new ones too. In Church on Sunday we listened to a Christmas Cantata which was was breathtaking, for example. Are there any Christmas Traditions you loved doing this year? Or ones you wish you had or kept as a tradition?
It still hasn't hit me that christmas is so soon!! I have too much to do.
Reply DeleteLove this simple look, that flannel top is perfect for winter

Wow look at those icicles!
Reply DeleteWe have decided to go away so really I haven't been decorating much at all this year. I'm still trying to decide if I want to haul anything up from the basement.
Outside it looks like a winter wonderland.
I am going to bake some cookies for my neighbours today. They have already cleared out driveway twice which is kind of a tradition too.
I love those boots!

Oh, that is a sweet tradition.
Deletethe icicles are really cool! and I esp love that log cabin, it's perfect with your plaid top and boots. although I am in awe that you dont have a huge sweater on over it all, but i'm guess you had a big coat you just took off. we'll miss out on most of the christmas traditions this year since we're moving in a few weeks and have to start packing, but I'm just glad we have a short break from studying.
Reply DeleteI did have a coat, though it was actually warmer than it looked.
DeleteHope your move is going well.
It's always nice when it gets a bit warmer, but that slush and dirty snow is the worst (especially in a city haha!). And the days are seriously passing by way too quickly- I haven't even done a holiday DIY yet. Time needs to stop for just a second for me to catch up ;)

Fantastic pictures! I'm excited for Christmas, but I can't believe it's next week!
Reply DeleteI love this look on you! I feel like I can't wear a lot of button downs (I feel too masculine in them), but this works so well for your figure, and I love those jeans. I'm jealous that it doesn't seem to be as freezing where you are :)

I think freezing is all relative, a 20 degree weather difference is going to feel warm whether it is going 60 to 80 or 0 to 20 (which was what it was here!)
DeletePerfect pop of color with the plaid top! I think the days of open shirt weather are over here in the Midwest. Haha. It snowed so heavily last night. >_<

What a cute town and I love the icicles! Yeah- dirty snow sure isn't as pretty as the fresh white stuff :) Things haven't been too Christmasy around here although we did put up our tree this year. It just came so fast! What's your new job??
Reply DeleteI work at an Elementary School running their computer lab. Since it involves kids, I don't talk about what I do much, but it is fun.
DeleteYou look so cute in those jeans! And I've never seen icicles like that, soooo crazy! Christmas here has been kind of weird this year. We did get a tree but because of the mortgage and the baby coming there are only like 3 presents under it. I'm sure it will be much more fun next year :)
Reply DeleteSome years a tree just isn't going to work. But how fun will it be with next year and Baby's First Christmas!
DeleteI love looking at Christmas decorations in stores, even though I haven't got a tree set up at my apartment :-) It was just too small to fit in a tree :( I love the outfit you wore. Such a casual, but fun look for a day out :-) xo
Reply DeleteSo casual and classic. Those jeans look amazing on you! Gosh, all the snow and icicles look so pretty--I never see that where I live. It definitely looks like Christmas where you are! I hope you get to participate in your traditions still. Christmas/family traditions are very important to me. For my family, we always exchange new ornaments on Christmas eve, and my sister and I get new PJs for our parents and ourselves to wear on Christmas morning. :)
Reply DeleteI love the idea of an ornament exchange for a family tradition!
DeleteSo cute! I love the jeans!
Reply DeleteSimple and cool:) and what a weather!
Reply DeleteI've been obssessed with plaid lately, and this is the perfect rustic background. those lace up boots are great too!
Reply DeleteI love this! The necklace adds a perfect touch of elegance to a preppy, relaxed outfit.
Reply DeleteYou look so nice in casual clothes!
Reply Deletethe snow & ice in the background does make everything look very northpole like! ahhh plaid, such a classic!
