I love the Simon and Garfunkel song and especially its place in The Graduate, but here, something else makes itself known in the silence- The Ice groans! The sound itself is not unlike that of whales singing to each other, I think.
We had a few days of a warm spell. It was warm enough in fact, for certain parts of the reservoir to melt and for me to wear something with a skirt. This particular combination is something I've been wearing on and off all winter. It is comfy yet makes me feel elegant. It makes me think of roses in a vase and of childhood dance lessons and the scent of Irish Breakfast Tea. Do you have certain items in your closet that always evoke a specific thought or memory?

Beautiful outfit in a beautiful place! The landscape compliments you so well here.
Reply DeleteGreat photos and such a beautiful skirt! Glad I found your blog. It's lovely and so are you :)
Reply DeleteGreat song and lovely look!
Reply DeleteThis is lovely. That skirt is just a wonderful color, and the whole outfit matches the surroundings beautifully. Clothing is definitely an emotional thing! I always remember what I felt/did in certain outfits. Perhaps I'm strange that way...haha.
Reply DeleteI always like reading about the stories that go with your clothes :)
DeleteI have this red tank top that I remember buying in high school (don't wear it anymore)- but I remember it was the first time I was trying to buy clothes that had some sort of emotional connection- not just the same practical outfit.
Reply DeleteI always thought your first forays into personal style was wearing your dad's shirts in middle school. In retrospect, it was a neat, gamine look :)
DeleteI love that you still have that tank top though :)
the white pebbles play so well with the soft fabrics of your outfit. The mountains give just another layer of mystery, love these!
Reply DeleteWhat a pretty landscape! It matches perfectly with this outfit- I love your layers and how you managed to stay warm and keep it super feminine.
Reply DeleteSuper photography! I love this look - makes me think of ballet.
Reply DeleteI am a HUGE Simon & Garfunkel (and The Graduate) fan, so naturally I love this post. Plus, this outfit is lovely. This skirt is just too pretty!
Reply DeleteThat is such a lovely soft elegant look. You have a great eye for combining different textures.
Reply DeleteThe Graduate and the soundtrack is one of my favourites of all time.
Definately clothing brings back many memories. That is why I often have a hard time getting rid of clothing. One leather jacket I had (bomber style like the one from Top Gun) travelled all throughout Europe and North America with me. I finally ended up giving it to my Dad, so at least it stays in the family.
bisous
Suzanne
I like that your Dad still has it :)
DeleteI just watched that movie for the first time last night. I loved it, thought it was cleverly done and I`ve always liked Simon and Garfunkle
DeleteLove the soft colors and the beautiful backdrop.
Reply DeleteLove that song! And such a pretty color palette you're wearing. I have lots of clothes the evoke memories for me, especially the clothes I've bought while on vacation.
Reply DeleteVacation clothes, yes! Totally memory loaded.
DeleteThese photos are absolutely gorgeous! And that skirt is so pretty! We had a bit of a warm spell in Oklahoma recently too and I just had to take advantage of it!
Reply DeleteI am so glad I stumbled upon your blog - I am a new follower via bloglovin!

Reply DeleteBeautiful style!
Ah! Thank you Linn.
Deletehaha the ice groan is certainly something i know nothing of, more like the "heat moan" in the horrendous summer months. but anyway, you look gorgeous kristian! i love these pastels in winter and the perfectly placed layers that appear to add some warmth but still are dainty and not bulky.
