What I Wore: Sweater (Joules), Shirt (Popbasic; Similar Here), Pencil Skirt (Brag Vintage; Similar Here), Boots (Similar Here), Leggings (Target)
There are so many things I love in these pictures. I mean, yes, this fox terrier sweater and that blue silk shirt have been remixed like no other this past month, but red pencil skirts go with literally everything. So why not the shirt and sweater too?
But you may notice something else you recognize- the location! Yes, underneath all that snow, this is the same place where many of the photos from our wedding day were shot! The building is a little church-turned-gallery, and it positively bursts with charm. In fact, it was the original Methodist Church (the current Methodist Church where we were married is just across the street). Don't you love all the kitschy, vintage-y details. It is a popular style 'round these parts, but passing by this building reminds me every time of our wedding, and all those happy feelings of being surrounded by so many friends and loved one. Yes, even when it- and we- are buried in snow. It's like Beatles say, there are places I remember...
What are the places that you will never lose affection for? What memories do they bring?

Reply DeleteI did not recognize the building at all! I did think about how cute it was, but after you mentioned it, I do remember seeing it in the wedding photos. Less snowy, though. This sweater always makes the outfit!!
Reply DeleteRe: your question about dry shampoo, I use Suave. It'd be a cheap experiment, anyhow (it's like $2.50). It comes in a yellow-ish bottle...and like I said, I've noticed that using it early on in the washing cycle, and at night, really helps in blend into my hair. Sometimes it can get chalky/weird. Hope that helps!

Reply DeleteI will always have affection for a park in BC on Vancouver Island where we used to live. It is the most private serene special spot in the world. We hiked there all the time and would climb to the top of a mountain to see the spectacular views across the straight. If I'm stressed I think about that place. It always calms me down. I loved all of the time we lived in Victoria. If you ever get a chance to visit, it is well worth it.
That dog sweater is dang cute and the red pencil skirt is so classic.

I recognized it from your facebook post as well, such a beautiful location indeed & fun to see it covered in snow. do roofs need to be reshingled more over there? i dont know what that matters but it just dawned on me that it's a lot of water on them when the snow melts. anyway, red pencil skirts really do go with everything! I used to wear one i had a lot to work. i love this remix, def something i could & would like to wear to work as well, a nice mix of business casual but still fun w/ that darling sweater!
Reply DeleteHmmm... I only remember my parents' house being reshingled once in the 20 some years they've owned it, but I'm not sure. We actually live in an arid desert though. It rarely rains (and we only get a foot or so of snow every so often). This is more than we are used to getting, so it did create all these puddles etc. we are not used to dealing with!
