What I Wore: Shirt (Old Navy), Cami (Forever 21), Necklace and Bracelets (Popbasic), Hat (Vintage; Similar Here), Pants (59th Street; Similar Here), Shoes (Old Navy)
It's a metaphorical ship. Let's make that clear right away. I can count the number of times this land-locked girl's been on a boat on one hand.
Still, it has been wet, and foggy-and now even snowy- around these parts. Which just evokes certain things- the smell of camp fire smoke gone out, the feel of wool blankets, the taste of tea, and how utterly easy slouchy outfits like this one are. Days like this are when the longing-filled music of the 60's folk revival scene get played. That's where the post's title comes from.
I rarely use song lyrics (this might be the only other case) but the words of one song inevitably draw me in: There is a ship / It sails the seas / It's loaded deep, as deep cam be / But not so deep as the love I'm in / I know not if I sink of swim.
I end up humming it at random points through out the day, lazily stirring tea perhaps or waving good bye, but always there, at the back of my mind, letting me dream, perhaps even of summer.
You look so cool! I kind of wish it were still chilly down here. Don't know if I could rock that hat as well as you, though!

I've been pairing chambray shirts with white tees and black bottoms lately too. It's such a nice, clean look. And drinking tea while listening to folk music sounds wonderful.
Reply DeleteThat hat looks great on you, Kristian! Love the bracelets, too.

I like the way you're wearing all that popbasic jewellery. I'm not a fan of them personally, and tend to gift them to friends who simply adore them. They look lovely on you, especially against the chambray shirt.
Reply DeleteYeah, their jewelry tends to be my most worn items, really, because they can go with so much. It is kinda funny actually. I was never much into bracelets until Popbasic and now I love to add them on.
DeleteI bet people enjoy them as gifts though!
I literally gasped in horror at the mention of possible store. it's MAY! MAY! good god. also, love how dreamy this post was. i thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Reply DeleteThis is such a cute look. I really, really like your shoes - they add so much to the outfit.
Reply DeleteI know you're probably longing for Summer but your description made me quite happy that Winter is coming to us down here. I love the smells of cooler weather! Also, really like how you combined the accessories (necklace and bracelets). They look great together. xo
Reply DeleteAh, I love the scene you just painted here! And agreed, slouchy outfits for days like this are the best. Though slouchy outfits for me usually include leggings, not a gorgeous fitting pair of pants like yours (which I wish to own!). That has to be the most perfect vintage hat too!
Reply DeleteLove this look- those boots are awesome. Something does feel so good about this classic pairing. You are a good writer, lady! I felt as though I drifted to another place as I read this.
Reply DeleteI didn't know the song yet, but will look it up when I finish this comment. You've made me curious! Like always, I adore your outfit. This one is something I'd wear in a heartbeat myself. Love the easy, yet classic feel of it :-) xo
Reply DeleteYou always have the best casual outfits. I love that statement necklace!
Reply DeleteLove your shoes and the way you tied the belt <3 Beautiful casual look!
