Fall Fashion

What's interesting it is fall, but the photos are actually in chronological order from left to right.

Fall Mail
We shared a tongue-in-cheek guide to writing to advice columns for this month's letter writing series. We also shared both books about mail and mail about books, and, for those of you who thinking mail is for the birds- we always have this post of feathery-fine stationary!

Fall Plans
Number one on this month's Why Don't You... List was to start a new job, and that's exactly what I've been busy with! For those of you out of the loop, I took a position teaching gifted and talented elementary students; there were a few weeks of prep and meetings, then I welcome kids into my classroom last week. That may be why the beautiful except from this month's Dog Eared Page rang so especially true for me. Just because I love my new job doesn't mean there's not a daydream or two about summer still lingering, especially when oohing and aahing over the Continental looks showcased by these Americans-in-Rome with the film Three Coins in the Fountain. And as busy as things have been, we can tell they are about to rev up more, so Thanks September, and here's to you October with your Harvest events, Halloween and Homecoming Games.

  1. Ah, yes. There is always a nice, cool week at the beginning of fall and then it warms right up again for another few weeks. We're experiencing that here too. Love how classic all of these seem too, but each with your unique touches and silhouettes. So pretty!
And I found that article on ethical shopping quite interesting. My husband and I have discussions about this sometimes and he has brought up that point frequently-how if no one buys from them they are all out of work. I tend to only shop secondhand anyway so I don't usually worry about it, but it is certainly some food for thought.

    1. Thank you!

I'm not sure how much I agree with the article or not. Because, of course, if you buy from companies that give that pay a higher wage, they can higher more people, but... it is something I'd not considered before.

  2. Wow, the article about the Forest service was alarming. Surely the forest service can come up with a better way of earning money than that? I found it ironic however, that the Rep's surname was Walden. I got a chuckle out of that one.

  3. Thanks so much for linking to my post! The Common Core article is very interesting. I am fascinated by how divisive this curriculum has become. The Anthropologie Furniture post cracked me up :)

  4. I did not know about Ecuador's digital currency plans! I seriously feel I should know about that (it kind of relates to my real world job). Thanks for pointing that out, so fascinating. I really love your link lists, always really interesting things there. I keep thinking of doing something like this, if only to keep track of the cool things that pass me by on twitter.

  5. Oh my gosh, i was DYING Over the Anthropologie post you shred. I never noticed how...crazy?...they were with their styling. In the store everything makes me want to just move in and live there, but their catalog is a whooole other story. I like how the author was getting more and more exasperated the further you scrolled, haha. And Joanna's "good advice" article was amazing. I especially loved her tip that "everything takes forever". Amen to that. Oh how I know it.
