What I Wore: For a Perfect Weekend

What I Wore: Skirt (Hell Bunny), Shirt (Popbasic; Similar Here), Necklace (local boutique; Similar Here), Bracelet (Popbasic; Similar Here), Shoes (Loly in the Sky)

I have been daydreaming of this combination of clothing since last spring when this skirt first came into my life. But then it got hot.  And then it got busy. So... this is the first time I've actually been able to wear it. There is something very satisfying in an outfit coming together as you envisioned, but I'm sure it's just preaching to the choir to tell you this. It was actually cold enough for me to have to exchange the skirt for jeans for a bit on Saturday, but once it warmed up in the afternoon, I was right back in this floral beauty. It's a statement piece for sure, but considering the number of times it has been on the blog- and how that is just fraction of how often I wear it- it just goes to show that you will use what you love.

Anyway, wearing this look left me with a feeling of a certain... je ne sais quoi. But it felt perfect for a perfectly good weekend. We got out of town to have Adventures on Saturday- complete with brunch at our very favorite cafe. It was crowded enough that despite the said chill in the air, we had to eat outside and, though neither I nor the Boy ordered the Elvis-inspired PB&J French toast, the food was just as delicious as remembered. We shopped (I got several things from The List! And, boy, does that list make it so much easier to know if an item is what I want or not), and wandered bookstores, and generally just did as we pleased. Then on Sunday it was quite the opposite. I never even stirred from the house. We cleaned and worked and put life back in order for the coming week. As November promises to be even busier than October with two- count 'em two!- work-related trips, and an online graduate class, feeling ahead of the game now means I'll likely  just be able to keep my head above water later on.

What were you up to this weekend? Partying? Laying low? Adventures? Something in between?

  1. What a beautiful outfit! I totally agree that it's so satisfying to finally wear an outfit that you've been daydreaming of for so long. That rose print is truly the best! It sounds like you had a wonderful relaxing weekend, and I'm looking forward to more future outfits:)

  2. I think this skirt was such a brilliant buy for you. The outfit is so French chic.

Sounds like the perfect weekend really.

We went out to a burlesque show. It was fantastic. If you've never been to one I'd highly recommend it. We went to our first one when we were in New Orleans.

  5. I love this combo, and when an outfit from your mind comes together just as imagined- it definitely doesn't always work out as it does in your mind, at least for me ;) The Elvis inspired French Toast sounds right up my alley, although I would probably need a long nap after eating it! It's such a good feeling to be caught up before the craziness ensues!

  8. That always happens to me-I have an outfit I want to wear and then it takes me a while to find an occasion to wear it! That skirt is one of my favorites of yours-the print is just so beautiful! And how cute are those little shoes with the lips on them!?

  9. Ooo what did you get off the list?? And I have to take a moment and tell you that I LOVE this outfit! The delicate stripes in your blouse go so well with this bold floral beauty. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces in your closet. And I just love when an outfit comes out looking exactly as you hoped. It's the outfits that don't quite match up your vision that are eternally frustrating -__-

    1. What did I get? Ha- probably more than I should have. Jeans, the cardigan and a wine colored shirt. You said you weren't sure if writing a list would make you want to shop more? Welllll... sometimes that happens. It is so rare I find exactly what I want but this list I really am!

      Thank you by the way!

  10. Anyone would enjoy pb French toast. I'm a little confused about the Elvis pb hamburger I saw on a menu recently...
Your skirt and top are a better combo
