What I Wore: Shirt (Old), Scarf (gift), Necklace (Popbasic), Skirt (Cat World via Yesstyle.com), shoes (Old Navy)
I'm sure I'll be singing a Bohemian Rhapsody all summer-long here on NFD. The look is just to perfect for summer! Take this outfit for example; a grey shirt with a cream skirt is something you've probably seen before. A great basic look, flattering to many. Add a headscarf and you've amped up that boho vibe.
To be honest, I was worried about the head scarf at first. How not to look like a pirate? Or like I was playing dress up. But it was fun that just one little thing could completely change a look. That is one trick I'm keeping in my back pocket. What about you? Is a headscarf a fashion do or don't?
P.S. I've joined my first link party! Check out these lovely ladies below for more summery outfit goodness!
I love these photos, totally bohemian. That maxi skirt is gorgeous and so is your headscarf!

I love the skirt and headscarf - I love wearing headscarves, I think they make all outfits a little more interesting xx

I think you know that I LOVE headscarves! I'm always looking for new ways to wear them, and this bohemian way is so fun. I love the print of it too, it really adds to the feeling of the ensemble.
Reply DeleteI know you do! You pull them off so well too :)
DeleteOh, I love the headscarf on you! You pull it off so well. And I just adore this skirt. I can definitely see why you'll be sporting this look all summer!
Reply DeleteThe headscarf looks adorable on you! Love the neutrals with pops of color from the scarf and beautiful necklace!
Reply DeleteYou look so beautiful and graceful in these photos. <3 The third one is my favorite! I love that pleated maxi and the multi-color headband. The latter is a more unique and fresher addition than the floral crown trend, IMO. Though, I do like floral crown fashions. If only my head weren't so big...Hehe :P

I like the floral crowns I see about, but think I'd feel too self-conscious wearing them. People already ask why I'm "dressed up" all the time- even if I'm in shorts or something!
DeleteThank you by the way!
I really like the headscarf!
Reply DeleteHeadscarves are so great - but I can never seem to get them to stay in my hair!
Reply DeleteI really like your skirt - so pretty and effortless!

Mine is bobby-pinned to help with that, because otherwise- yeah, five minutes and then the scarfs fall off!
DeleteThank you.
I love your look, the scarf in your hair looks great! Your photos are also very pretty :)

I used to wear headscarves alot--whenever I didn't want to do my hair! :P I haven't worn one in a while, but I really do like the look. It's different from the every day norm!
Reply DeleteThey are a great way to save so-so hair for sure!
DeleteThe flow of your skirt in the wind is beautiful! It makes me want to buy a giant fan for all my outfit pictures, haha. You pull off the scarf look well and the yellow in the scarf perfectly connects with the yellow in your necklace.
Reply DeleteAnd hey, even if you did look like a pirate, there's nothing wrong with that! ;)
Instead of a fan, move to Wyoming where the wind never stops :)
DeleteThank you Jen!
The headscarf is so cute! Like you said, it's an ordinary outfit but you make it pop with some great accessories :)

You look so pretty! You always have the best skirts! I'm a big fan of your headscarf-- I haven't tried one yet, but I'm thinking I'll have to try it out this summer! Anything that can cover humidity hair is good in my book ;)
Reply DeleteI'll go check out some of those other blogs! I'm always on the lookout for more reading material, although I'm sure I don't need any more distractions!
Oh Emma, you would look great in a head scarf for sure!
DeleteAnd thank you!
Hahah a pirate, that literally made me LOL. I've really been into head scarves recently too, but I like tying it around my head into a bow on the front. It looks so cute and retro. I've also been loving the turbans you see everywhere- I really want to get one and pair it with a casual, striped look.

Ooh- I like the idea of a retro look with the Rosie the Riveter inspiration. Also- you now need to do the turban+stripes, for sure!
Deletehaha i def never would've thought of a pirate look from the scarf but you gave me a smile : ) I love the pop of color it adds and your simple yet elegant look. you look so great in long skirts! and of course the scenery gets me every time. bohemian look is also my go-to for summer.

Reply DeleteGorgeous pictures! I love the skirt, been looking for one like that in dark red (that doesn't make me look like a red velvet cupcake lol)
Reply DeleteIt looks like your first link party went really well! I love this look - that skirt with the tee - how do you manage to make that look awesome?! Seriously, this isn't something I would have seen on a rack and thought cute, but it's really perfect on. - it fits you super beautifully and i love the headscarf.
