Reply DeleteA fabulous list :D
Deleteindeed!
DeleteWe're having a garage sale! :-)
Reply DeleteGood luck with it! We just finished TWO (back to back weekends) and it was crazy!
DeleteWow! That is crazy. How did you do it? We made a whopping $16.50 and after one weekend, I'm done!
DeleteWell... to be fair, most of it was my grandmother's, who moved to an assisted living place, but my parents, my uncle and my husband and I all contributed stuff too, so it was a LOT of stuff and several larger items.
DeleteWe did fine the first weekend, but still had stuff from closets that hadn't been cleared and several large furniture items. The second weekend we sold the one last big item but other than that not much. The county's fair had its parade that weekend, so... Either way though, less things to sort through!
I love to fly kites! I haven't flown one since I was probably in middle school though. I had this parrot kite that would flap in the wind and it was majestic and awesome. I always love these posts of yours-a great way to make every day things special :)
Reply DeleteWe had a parrot kite as kids too! (though it didn't flap so not as cool as yours).
DeleteSo glad you like these lists :D
I definitely plan on shopping at the farmer's market!
Reply DeleteSo much fun, right? And tasty!
DeleteDo alcoholic popsicles work? I'd think they wouldn't freeze right.
Reply DeleteI have yet to try it, though I've pinned some recipes for them on Pinterest. I know you can definitely freeze wine though ( a cooking tip for leftover wine is to freeze it in trays and then you can use it for cooking). It would be fun to find out. Also found a yummy looking one for nutella, banana and pistachio, but we'll see if I make it...
Deletewhoa yummy... I will check out your pinterest!
DeleteMy friend Nicki's goal for August to to start a blog! I know that mommy blogs are popular and have their own community. Any advice for her? How did you join the fashion blog community?
Reply DeleteYay for her starting a new blog! That is very exciting.
DeleteHow did I get into the fashion blog community? Huh, lol, I'm not quite sure. I actually was reading such blogs for about a year before starting my own; I continued to read them and then made a point to always comment on posts I read as well as commenting on any fellow blogger's blog if they had commented on mine. One can build up relationships that way. Organic relationships tend to come up slowly. Later on, working with and promoting others' blogs or work also quite helps, but at first I'd tell her to focus on creating quality content that other people (besides the kids' grandparents) would want to read, and to also focus on reading and commenting on blogs she likes, especially if they are smaller/just starting blogs too.
Really though, before starting my blog, I also read up about blogging. There are a lot of great books out there (especially for mommy bloggers actually!), but ProBlogger is a great site for tips about blogging (and specifically about getting into a community), and, even though she is not going into fashion, The Independent Fashion Blogger website has fantastic articles on blogging and growing a blog and growing a community that work for all blogs. Pinterest can be a wormhole of endlessly articles to help with blogging. I've got a board she could start with for blogging articles, if she wasn't sure where to start too.
Lastly, if she finds she likes blogging, maybe make it a goal for September or October to try using Twitter, Instagram or another social media platform to connect with others whether they are other bloggers or potential readers/friends :) A lot of interaction, especially with other bloggers, tends to happen there.
Hope that helps. I've really enjoyed blogging as a hobby and hope she does too!
Thank you! I sent that to her and will keep up with it too :)
DeleteLove this list- so inspiring!! Definitely going to try to do many of those things!

I've been creating a summer to do list myself! I've flown a kite recently (for the first time ever!) and I want to get back into making fresh fruit popsicles for sure. Making homemade ice cream and DIY jam are also on the list!
