If you've ever read my blog, this would be obvious by the number of times I've dressed like Annie Hall. Winning Best Picture of the year, Annie Hall

Annie Hall is first seen in her most iconic outfit- a tie tucked under a vest. You can give it a modern tweak by using colored pants with a slightly baggy fit. Plus, Annie loved photography; a cellphone decal might be a way to pay homage to that.

To invoke that Annie Hall feeling in a less obvious way, go for long maxi skirts, tweed, and bowler hats. Even today, Diane Keaton is often seen in a bowler hat. Riding boots under the long hem add an unexpected element, as does the arm party with a men's watch. Best of all, this look works great for fall!

Would you try a tomboyish look like this? What other movies' (or movie stars') wardrobes are you lusting after?
I think these two outfits you've put together are so cute! I don't feel like I could rock the first tomboy one very well, but I can see you looking adorable in it!

Ah, I do love tweed! Annie Hall is such great style-spiration. Both of these are fabulous. I've been shying away from androgynous looks since I got my pixie cut but I could go for something like this! :)

Maybe try pairing a more androgynous look with a longer skirt like in the second outfit. Plus, pixies are very in thanks for Emma Watson and Anne Hathaway! ;)
DeleteI just love these looks. Annie Hall is such a wonderful film for fashion inspiration. I often go for a bit of a menswear inspired look, but more fitted.
Reply DeleteI would take anything from the sets of MadMen or Boardwalk Empire.

Oh, both of those series have the best aesthetics!
DeleteThe second outfit you created to honor Annie Halls style is simply perfect! Really something that I would wear in a heartbeat. I'm especially drawn to the plaid blazer. Such a chic item! xo
Reply DeleteNice! Anything that involves a vest and tie is a winner to me. :D <3 That plaid blazer is killer! *drools*

Annie Hall is one of my favorite movies- I LOVE her style! Diane Keaton totally influenced the modern menswear as womenswear trend. I love all Woody Allen films... have you seen Blue Jasmine?

I haven't seen Blue Jasmine yet... probably won't come anywhere near where I live. We get VERY limited choice of films. But I'm excited to see if when it becomes more generally available.
DeleteHave you seen it? What did you think?
I love it! I've always wanted to purchase a bowler hat, hopefully someday I'll find the right one. I adore both looks so much. The colored trousers and tweed blazer are my favorite pieces! I can definitely see how you pull inspiration from her style :)
Reply DeleteGetting my bowler hat definitely meant waiting for the right one. Hope you find one, Katie!
DeleteLove the outfits you put together!

The trousers are from Target, if that helps.
DeleteI'm loving both of these outfits! Although I'd cancel the tie in the first one...maybe change it for a bow tie...but that's just me! haha
Reply DeleteWell, I have a tie because that is very much what Annie Hall wore, but I love the idea of a bowtie too! How geek-chic.
