What I Wore: Sweater (Similar Here), Necklace (Similar Here), Bracelet (Popbasic; Similar Here), Skirt (Popbasic), Shoes (Minnitonka)
You know you don't have to act with me, Steve. You don't have to say anything, and you don't have to do anything. Not a thing. Oh, maybe just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and...
Blow.
Lauren Becall says that to Bogart in their first film together and it blows me away every time. In real life, though they would later marry, it was their very first scene together, and Becall was so nervous, she kept her chin to her chest in order to hide any shaking.
Anyway. That's how I am with Popbasic (as is probably obvious with this unintentionally Popbasic heavy week on my blog). But.. it's what I really wear and love. This skirt was part of the collection I reviewed yesterday.
As for the real Bogart to my Becall, it was The Boy's birthday this past weekend! My family and his all met at his favorite pub. The doors were open and the breeze was fine in what was the first truly nice weekend of the year. Low key but fun, and, Boy, if you are reading this, know all you have to do is whistle.
You know how to whistle, don't you?
This skirt is so unique! I love it and I adore that movie quote as well!!! You look amazing and I'm all about brown hues mixed with black!

Brown and black for the win :D
DeleteThe ending of this post was adorable :D And I can only IMAGINE how nervous she was with her first scene with Bogart. I'd be absolutely intimidated. And I was looking forward to see how you'd style this skirt- love how you toned it down with the knit!

: ) I love that quote. And the fact that you used it for your man.
Reply DeleteI'm so happy to see you wearing this totally unique skirt. I can see where it would be full of possibilities.
The fact that you chose a classic sweater doesn't surprise me. The little moccasins are an unexpected fun surprise.
I could really see this working well with one of my jewelled Anthropologie belts.

The funny part was, he didn't read it till a few days later and was sad he didn't get "to whistle" on "the right day."
DeleteThat skirt is so neat and unique! Love this! Alex

Cute look, and I love that quote! It's been a while since I saw the movie, but it's hard to beat Bogart and Bacall :)

Reply DeleteLove the outfit! The skirt is very interesting because it's not usual style for a leather skirt. Very nice :)
