Who said basics had to be boring? I've had this red pencil skirt for about three years now and its like a chalemon whenever it pops up on the blog. I used to be wary of the restriction of movement, but ... blogging made me change my tune and I grew to love the pencil skirt silhouette so! I even tried it in a few other hues too. Do you have sartorial shape you were unsure of, but later learned to to stop worrying and love the skirt (or am I the only one channelling Dr. Strangelove here?)

I just love that red pencil skirt. That first outfit is one of my favourites.
Reply DeleteI'm pretty open minded when it comes to skirt shapes. I do find it challenging not to always show I have a waist though. I think I am slowly starting to get over that.

I feel like something you'd written on that topic of making sure you have a waist always makes me very aware of that fact too. It is hard though, especially since what looks great on that model in that pinterest pin, looks and feels different as you move through your everyday life.
DeleteAnyway, thank you!
The benefits of investing in classic pieces. Work that red skirt! My favorite look is definitely the one with the banana sweater; quirky yet still somewhat classy!

Anything that's a basic item in an eye-popping color seems like so much more than basic to me. It seems more and more difficult to find clothes that are both stylish, well-fitting, and COLORFUL above anything else (maybe it's the winter color schemes?) in stores lately. So I love the red. And the banana top is one of my favorites of yours.
Reply DeleteI love the way you tied your belt in that first photo. :D That red skirt is the best. Super versatile!

Thanks
cute! extra cute with polka dots. I have a brown pencil skirt I don't wear enough. This is helpful for pairing it with something other than just a button up shirts.
