What I Wore: As Wyoming Seasons Change

Wednesday, September 27, 2017

Wyoming doesn't really have seasons. It has winter (and winter. and more winter, and, oh, did I mention winter?) and a blazingly hot, short summer. The first day of spring we had snow in my backyard! Brr! So, this is my attempt to feel a bit autumnal. On the bright side, it had warmed up enough that day that the snow melted and we managed a family walk. Not sure who was more excited, the dogs or the baby (yes, despite his rather serious face here, he enjoyed it very much. He always has a serious little face.)

On a more metaphorical note, seasons of my life are also changing, and I'm still figuring out how to dress for this new season of my life as a mother and still feel like myself. Not sure if I quite nailed it here.

However, I do love this new jacket. My tweed one was well loved and well used, but this postpartum body had changed just enough that it didn't seem to sit quite right anymore. So, it went off to a new home via Poshmark, and I found this J. Crew beauty there too! The thing about blazers like this is- it doesn't matter what year they were made; they will always be in style. Everything else has been in my closet for a while now. Its nice to have workhorses that you can return to season in and season out, isn't it? Are there pieces you love wearing like that? Or, like me, have you needed to seek out some new favorites lately? Share in the comments below!
