1) Brush Hair to Side
Step one is pretty simple- brush your hair to the side (or to wherever you want your braid to be. It can totally be at the back of your head; no judgements!)
2) Divide hair into two parts
Divide your hair into two equal parts.
3) Twist the separate sections of hair
Take one of your two sections of hair and twirl it around your finger. It will twist together, rope-like. Then take the other section of hair and twirl it around your finger. You can twirl the hair in a clockwise or counter-clockwise manner, just make sure you twirl both sections in the same direction! You will have two separate twisted sections of hair.
4) Twist hair sections around each other
You will twist the two section around each in the OPPOSITE direction that you twisted the invidual sections of hair in. That is, if, in step three, you twirl hair around your finger in a clockwise manner, wrap the two strands together in a counter-clockwise manner, and vice-versa. This will keep things from untwisting.
5) Tie end
Tie the end of the braid off and you're done! Enjoy you're super-easy rope-braid.
P.S. Here's Rope Braids pinned up on my head in "Milkmaid Braid" style, or try some of Other Hair Tutorials.
pretty and creative like always Kristian!
Reply DeleteI love this do! Too bad it always seems like my hair isn't long enough for things like this :( x
Reply DeleteThanks!
DeleteAnd, actually, judging by your last outfit shoot, you're hair is the about the same length as mine, and definitely long enough to try it, if you like it! And, so long as your hair is shoulder length you should be able to do any of my tutorials- the braid just might need to be at the back of your head instead of to the side....
ugh! i want long hair again wwhen i see stuff like this. have you ever done dutch braids? i love them
