What I Wore: Shirt ( J. Crew), Trench Coat (ASOS), Pants (Wet Seal; Similar Here), Shoes (Old Navy), Necklace (Popbasic), Bracelet (Alt Gift Box; Kluster Jewelry)
Oh man, I'm jazzed up and it is must be showing through. Today, sister visited and exclaimed that my outfit made me look like a character in a movie! Well, I've always wanted to be friends with Kathleen Kelly from You've Got Mail . Can I be a character in her film? What about you; what film would you most like to inhabit? And are you as obsessed with Design Sponge's series on the topic, Living In, like I am?
Seriously though, despite getting that loveliest of compliments, and despite getting to spend time with my sister, what I'm all ablaze about is this little ole' blog. Oh, yes! I "attended" Alt for Everyone this past weekend (plus, I got my bracelet from them). It is basically an online conference. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect- how could a video class I could attend in my pajamas match the energy and excitement of a life event? Well, since I've never been to a live blogger conference before, I'm not positive- but think the people at Alt did a pretty bang-up job! Oh, yes, there are big things in sort of Never Fully Dressed!
For all the bloggers out there- would you be interested in a post about Alt for Everyone and some of the takeaways I learned there? Or, well, would any reader be interested in that, blogger or no blogger aside?
I'd definitely be interested to hear what you got up to. I'm not sure what an online blogging conference would involve, or how you would get to talk with that many people. I do love hearing about the Internet doing awesome things like that. Makes me think a little bit of Peer2Peer uni which is a new thing about each other stuff online. I like it.
Reply Deletethe online conference was really neat. You can see what the classes were like on the Alt Channel. That was how the individual classes worked.
DeleteThis outfit is so classic, I can see why your sister said you looked like a movie character. And it would be totally awesome if you posted about what you learned from the conference :)
Reply DeleteI would LOVE to hear your takeaways from it!! I had no idea they had online conferences too, I would have loved to seen it! and you look so cute in that first photo, i absolutely love this outfit. you wear a trench like nobody's business!
Reply Deleteand hmmm, if i had to choose a movie i'd like to look like, it'd be Doris Day's Pillow Talk. Give me those outfits!

Oh, Pillow Talk! Yes!
DeleteYou do look like someone from a movie in this outfit! The muted trench with the vibrant red pants is such a perfect combo. I just learned about Alt for Everyone though this post, so I'd be interested to know what you learned from the session this weekend.

Thanks!
DeleteIf this is the first time you've learned about Alt for Everyone, I'd really take a look at the Alt Channel. They do individual classes that are different each month. They were all pretty great classes and for only 15 dollars very affordable!
I want to be friends with Kathleen Kelly, too! I'd definitely be interested in reading a post about Alt for Everyone.
Reply Deletelove your coat and top! you look stunning <3

Thanks.
DeleteI absolutely adore your outfit! I just love the bold red, stripes, and hints of yellow paired together. Let's see, one film I would love to inhabit is I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Ooh, and I would also be interested in reading about the conference!
Reply DeleteWhat is I Wanna Hold Your Hand about? It sounds cool (YAY Beatles!)
DeleteIt's a fictitious account that follows a group of teenagers in 1964 New York, most of whom desperately want to see The Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. It's such an adorable film :)
DeleteThis is such a wonderful outfit, I love the way the bold stripes look with the red. I really want a trench like this.
Reply DeleteI don't know what film character I'd want to look like! I've been told I remind people of Jess from New Girl, I'll take that!
Haha- I can see the Jess connection. i'm not sure I'd want to live in there world- there is a lot of really awkward coincidences. I embarrass too easily for that! - but I LOVE Jesse's outfits! And you rock cute outfits :)
DeleteI'd love your recap : ) Save me the work! LOL
Reply DeleteI think this look you are wearing is so classic. Very Audrey Hepburn aside from the pops of yellow.
As far as character from films I choose Mrs. Robinson from the Graduate or Joan or Betty from Mad Men when it was still set in the 1950's-1960s. I'm turned off since they are approaching the 70's.
BTW I appreciated your detailed intelligent comment on my blog. So nice when someone delves a little deeper.
bisous
Suzanne
I can see that- the 70s seem to have a very different aesthetic than the 60s (not that that is such a surprise. I look back on even the nineties as compared to the next decade and am always surprised.
DeleteYou are welcome about the comment. It was such an interesting post!
I'd love to hear what you learned at the conference, and I'm excited to see what you've got planned for your blog!
Reply DeleteRachel
You look gorgeous!! And I'm currently obsessed with trench coats - such a chic & fun touch! And YES, I'd love to hear about what you learned!!

Kathleen Kelly is definitely up there with my favorite characters that I would want to befriend. I also always wanted to be one of the kids in The Sound of Music, hehe.
Reply DeleteLOVE the look of this outfit Kristian - so classic and chic. And I would definitely be interested in hearing more from your online conference.
How could you not want to be in the Sound of music- the mountains, the puppets, the adorable made-from-curtain outfits :)
DeleteLove this classic color and pattern scheme! You wear it well! I'd love to get the inside scoop on that event! I've never been to anything like that before. I'm quite curious!

Reply DeleteThat conference sounds really great and I would love to hear about what you learned! It's weird to see you in pants, but red pants fit your personality so very well. And yeah, this is definitely a movie worthy outfit!
